About loomy

Hi. Starting with the painfully obvious, my name is Sara (or loomy), I'm eighteen, and I currently reside in Wichita, Kansas. I prematurely graduated in May 2006, and now attend WSU. Currently, I'm majoring in French, but I intend to add a second major in either education or psychology. I'm also a daycare teacher, and have a one year old brother who has been scientifically determined to be at least 375% more adorable than you.

When it comes to interests, I very much enjoy learning new languages, as well as studying the psycholinguistics behind communication. Travel is such a default interest, but I genuinely have a passion for immersing myself in other cultures. Eventually I intend to attend McGill University in Montréal, and I'd love to spend time in Sweden as well.

Politics are another major interest of mine — I'm probably farther to the left than almost anyone you know, and am a fierce supporter of the Green Party. Whilst I obviously tend to favour views that agree with my own, I can't stand apathy, ignorance, or blind faith from any end of the political spectrum. Educate yourself and know why you believe what you claim to believe.

I read "probably an excessive amount" (said my grade 11 English teacher). I've already amassed a small library, and intend to continue the collection and hopefully open a 24-hour library/café/art gallery when I'm (much) older. My books are... eclectic, to say the least. Non- fiction outnumbers fiction about 2:1, and I have a lot of vintage books, textbooks, foreign books, religion, philosophy, language, history...

I've been into web design for... nearly a decade now, I think. I started out on Geocities, but have since owned multiple domains and learned XHTML and CSS fluently, as well as some PHP.

I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling, but I dislike capitalisation aesthetically.

I procrastinate. A lot. Ironically enough, I'm rather productive whilst procrastinating, just never at what I'm supposed to be completing.

I enjoy shooting and developing film (manual mode ♥). I don't claim to be an artistic photographer myself, but I take a picture every day to illustrate my life in a photojournal. Check out http://flickr.com/photos/l
